Motorsports competition is one of those stress tests that defines product durability and off-road desert racing is the ultimate benchmark to measure performance. Winning a championship at the elite level of the sport solidifies it all. STEEL-IT® has been instrumental for Brenthel Industries as they campaigned for a Best In The Desert Championship, which they just earned with Kyle Jergensen as the driver of record in the #127 Trick Truck.
Jergensen and Brenthel Industries won the 6100 championship in 2020, so they wanted to step it up to the Trick Truck division for 2021. Kyle completed each race in the 2021 BITD series with podium finishes except for 4th place during Vegas to Reno. He was also recognized as the 2021 Triple Crown award winner for Unlimited Cars/Trucks for this consistent effort.

Racing at this level is extraordinarily challenging. During a 500-mile race, mere minutes mean the difference between victory and a podium finish. Every team, every machine, every driver, every pit stop has to be flawless and polished with zero mistakes or downtime. Every component of a race vehicle must be a tried and true performer, a trusted partner in achieving the win.
Brenthel Industries has identified STEEL-IT polyurethane coatings as one of these key components, an absolute game-changer that’s an essential part of regular prep and maintenance. STEEL-IT polyurthane’s unique, weldable stainless steel coating is applied to every chassis and suspension part for total protection against corrosion. Moreover, damage is a familiar part of the intense environments where these trucks compete requiring that repairs take as little time as possible. Because of its weldability, STEEL-IT polyurethane coatings eliminate the need to grind off the coating before starting a repair, saving the team hours of work.
Owner and Team Principal of Brenthel Industries, Jonathan Brenthel, laid it all down, "At Brenthel Industries, we will not coat our chassis, suspension arms, or any other component with anything but STEEL-IT polyurethane products. In the past, we have tried just about every type of coating you can think of; Powdercoat, Epoxy, Special automotive paints, and more. Absolutely nothing holds up like STEEL-IT."
Jonathan continued, "Our favorite part about STEEL-IT is how well it blends in when we need to make repairs. Often, our guys will need to replace their front or rear bumpers or just a tube here and there. Using STEEL-IT allows everything to blend in and match perfectly without being able to tell it was repaired. You can not do that with a powder coat or any other coating. We go through the toughest terrain in the world and out these vehicles through treacherous abuse. Salt-water, sand, rocks, you name it, all are no match. STEEL-IT survives it all!"
STEEL-IT congratulates Kyle Jergensen and Brenthel Industries on undertaking this tremendous mission and winning 2021 Best In The Desert Trick Truck Championship along with the coveted Triple Crown.
