How to Return STEEL-IT® Brand Coatings to Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc.
WHEN THIS POLICY APPLIES
Where Was the Product Purchased?
• If STEEL-IT Brand Coatings were purchased from a STEEL-IT Distributor or other. Reseller, please contact them directly about their returns policy.
• This policy applies only to STEEL-IT products purchased directly from The Makers of STEEL-IT, Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc. (SSC), through the STEEL-IT.com website.
When Can Product Be Returned?
SSC will consider a return of unopened product when at least one of the following three conditions is met:

The last page of this document includes a diagram of how packages being returned must be labeled to meet Hazardous Material shipping regulations.

RETURN POLICY FOR PRODUCT RECEIVED IN A DAMAGED CONDITION
FOR STEEL-IT® PRODUCT DAMAGED IN TRANSIT
If boxes and/or product is damaged in transit, Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc. (SSC) will file a claim with the shipping company (carrier) responsible in order to receive reimbursement for the damaged product. Once the claim is processed, replacement product will then be shipped at the carrier’s expense.
Failure to include detailed photos of shipping damage to the boxes makes filing claims more difficult and may not result in a refund from the carrier.
If you receive a shipment with boxes and/or product damaged in transit, please do the following:
1. If the exterior of the box appears damaged, please photograph the exterior of the unopened box and photograph the damaged area clearly.
2. Once you have opened the box, photograph any damage to the product(s) contained within the box. Next, remove the damaged product containers from the box and take clear photographs of the damage to the containers. Multiple angles are recommended.
3. Notify SSC of the damaged shipment by calling our office during business hours: +1 (978) 365-9828

Once SSC has received all of the information above and the supporting photographs, we will file a claim for reimbursement of the damaged product with the shipping company.
• If the damaged product container is not leaking, damaged product can be returned to SSC. The cost of freight for product return and the cost of freight for product replacement will be covered by the shipping company under the damage claim
• If the damaged product container is leaking, please dispose of the product in accordance with your local/state regulations.

FOR DEFECTIVE STEEL-IT PRODUCT
A request for return of defective product must be received no later than 5 months following the Invoice date of the products to be returned. If you believe a STEEL-IT product may be defective, please do not dispose of the product. Contact the technical department at SSC immediately. You may be instructed to return any defective product to SSC’s facility for analysis. SSC will cover the return freight cost in the event of a product issue.
When you contact SSC:
1. Please have ready:
a. The Invoice/Order number and product part number(s) for the defective item(s)
b. An explanation of why you believe the product may be defective
c. Clear photograph(s) that will help us understand the nature of the defect (with as much detail as possible)
2. Call SSC at (978) 365-9828 or toll-free at (866) 783-3548 to receive a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number
3. Each package for return requires a Limited Quantity Label in order to comply with Hazardous Material regulations. Limited Quantity labels are available upon request from SSC. Please refer to the “Limited Quantity Label Placement Diagram” (on the last page of this document) for directions on correct label placement
4. SSC will issue a Call Tag5 for return of the defective product and will cover the cost of freight for the return
5. SSC will be responsible for the cost of the replacement product and freight
6. Replacement product will be shipped as soon as possible.

RETURN POLICY FOR PRODUCT IN RESALABLE CONDITION
FOR INCORRECT PRODUCT RECEIVED
If the product you received is not the correct product you ordered, please immediately contact the SSC office during business hours6: +1 (978) 365-9828 or toll-free at (866) 783-3548.
1. Please have ready:
i. Your Order number
ii. The product number(s) and quantity of the STEEL-IT product you received that was incorrect
2. SSC will issue a Call Tag7 for return of the incorrect product and will cover the cost of freight for the return
3. SSC will be responsible for the cost of the replacement product and freight
4. Replacement product will be shipped as soon as possible
FOR ALL OTHER RETURNS OF RESALABLE PRODUCT
Coatings purchased directly from Stainless Steel Coatings, Inc. may be eligible for return, provided the following conditions are met:
1. The cans are unopened (factory sealed) and undamaged.
2. A request for return must be received no later than 5 months following the Invoice date of the products to be returned.
3. If return is approved, product must be received at SSC’s facility no later than 6 months from the Invoice date.
Customer pays the freight for returns.
TO RETURN RESALABLE PRODUCT
1. Contact SSC office at +1 (978) 365-9828 or toll-free at (866) 783-3548 to confirm the product is eligible for return (according to the conditions above). Please have ready:
a. The Invoice/Order number from the original order
b. Product part number(s) for the item(s) you wish to return and return quantity
2. Receive return approval from SSC and a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number
3. Prepare the items for return to SSC facility:
a. Place Limited Quantity Labels on the packages being returned. Each package for return requires a Limited Quantity label in order to comply with Hazardous Material shipping regulations. Limited Quantity labels are available upon request. Please refer to the “Limited Quantity Label Placement Diagram” for directions on correct label placement.
b. Package your paint for shipment and write the RMA number on the packing slip.
c. Prepay the shipment. Customer is responsible for cost of freight.
Once SSC has received and examined the coating to assure that it’s in resalable condition, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment.
